| This
life saving device makes it possible for vessels to
ride out a storm by literally taking it head on. The
bow meets the wind and waves as it was designed to
do. Because this ocean anchor allows only minimal
drift it also means that instead of trying to run
with the storm prolonging the ordeal, the storm passes
over the vessel instead. A well secured ParaAnchor
can eliminate broaching, capsizing and rolling. Lessening
the chance of injury or damage and dramatically improving
comfort.
There are three
elements to a complete Para-Anchor System:
A. The Parachute
Manufactured from high-density
Nylon. Seams are oversewn with polyester webbing
to absorb the high loads. All localised stress points
are further reinforced with vinyl and polyester
webbing inserts. The double braid shroud lines are
secured through stainless steel eyelets to the base
of the swivel. F
B. The Towing Rode
We can supply a towing
rode in braided nylon manufactured by Marlow Ropes
in the UK. It comes complete with a stainless steel
thimble spliced in each end and a stainless steel
16mm shackle.
C. The Retrieval
Line
15 mt
of 3-Strand Marstron floating rope is spliced to
a floating fender a further 25mts. of Marstron line
is spliced to the other end with a small pick -up
buoy spliced to the bitter end. This assembly attaches
to the stainless steel chain on the apex of the
anchor.
