Product Description
Made as a mainsail halyard, in Dyneema 10mm diameter, either 32m or 37m length with cover full length. Ideal for racing or cruising allowing reduced diameter lines for easier and lighter rope handling. Dyneema, size for size, is the lightest technical fibre in production. Stripping the smooth 32 plait cover will allow further weight reductions by 65% while retaining strength, stretch and wear characteristics. Tapering the cover on spinnaker sheets for example, means less weight at the clew to let the spinnaker fly higher. However, the cover needs to be retained for handling around winches. The 12 strand dyneema core is pu coated to improve adhesion between core and cover giving outstanding performance in clutches and jammers and improving abrasion resistance when uncovered. Special features: Lightweight (lightest technical fibre), high strength. Smoother profile hard wearing 32 plait cover to reduce wear on rope and /blocks. Less friction gives faster running and quicker boat manoeuvres. Cover can be stripped. Dyneema inner core Pu coated core with UV and abrasion protection. Suitable for racing and cruising. Easily spliced. The halyard comes complete with a 6mm Wichard key pin halyard shackle with bar. Wichard Shackles are drop forged; their technical characteristics are closely controlled during the manufacturing process. Allowing Wichard to stamp its brand on the shackles with every confidence. Key Pin Shackles “patented”. Closing these threadless shackles is done by rotating the pin half a turn: it doesn’t get much quicker? For major loads, there are also high-resistance versions (these are not a stock item please contact mail order department for price and availability). With the additional bar insert makes life easy by securing the halyard, sheet, or control line form dropping or falling off the shackles body. The shackle comes pre-spliced to the rope by our in house rigging department. The other end of the halyard has been whipped and a mousing eye added. Available in a choice of colours.
